Thread regarding Neiman Marcus Group layoffs

How do you meet their unrealistic sales goals?

Micromanaging is crazy, and being forced to send “looks” to customers regardless of your department. It’s asinine and employees dread coming to work every day with outrageous sales goals during a pandemic.

It’s amazing to me that there’s no understanding that there is pandemic going on and that the goals set are huge. I totally agree with what @1uow+18q0coYw said. I just can’t meet those requirements, especially since micromanagement makes things further difficult.

You can't unless you screw over everyone around you. I've heard the word TERMINATED more times at NM than anywhere else. It is unrealistic and they offer payment plan options online and not in store. Brick and mortar employees cannot compete.

Unrealistic sales goals and inaccurate financial projections are imbedded in the culture of NM.
It is a decades old problem. It leads to high employee turnover, damaged merchandise, unnecessary returns and in some cases fraudulent sales. The new NM management will learn the hard way that a high pressure store environment will lead to continued lost market share as the NM customer does not want to be overwhelmed by uninformed sales people. A better marketing strategy is what is needed to stimulate business. The current holiday marketing campaign is very poor. The photography is amateurish. The gift boxes are sad and cheap looking.
