Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

This is why I stay

For those who keep wondering why some of us stay even if we are unhappy here. Yes, I hate it here. And yes, I'm looking for a way out. But right now, that's not that easy. I would love to find another job ASAP but until then I choose to remain here. I don’t want to just quit unless I have something backed up. I put my time in and do the work I’m supposed to. That doesn’t make me a loser, or a s— up. It makes me responsible for wanting to be sure my family is provided for. It's as simple as that.

Could not agree more. Most of the people remaining would quit in a heartbeat if there was an alternative

YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME.
If every morning your not excited about your job, then you're wasting your time. Every day passing is pushing back what you're meant to do. I learned that the hard way. I was laid off. Rejected multiple times and then started my own business and couldn't believe the opportunities that i was giving up by working in OFE. I was surrounded by an organization that believes they have a right to their own facts. And that goes all the way to the top.
Sorry you hate your job and i know you've done great things because i've done great things. But i'm more sorry that you haven't worked towards getting you better and hearing about an individuals self made success.

Think about it. You're probably the backbone of your group. Don't let them weigh you down.
good luck

I think most prople at Baker are like you. Don't want to be there, but have no other choice right now. Just put in your 8 hours and nothing more. The company is going nowhere with everybody thinking like this. But I do not blame them. Baker S—s!!!

Completely agree but isn’t that why most decide to stay put? When thing is wanting to work somewhere, another is HAVING to work there. I lived and died for that company for many years, danced their dance and was a company Man until the end. Keep on and keep at it while having a Plan B. Best case scenario you remain onboard until something better shows up. Worst case you’re cut loose and you make new paths to reach your goals.

I believe everyone thinks like this when you have dependents. No one remaining is a loser, they’re just fighting to stay alive.

As someone that was cut loose way back in March, all I can say is Baker isn’t the greatest, I still miss it sometimes, but I’m more excited in the new move and just yesterday accepted an offer. Keep on trucking folks
