At least give Apple and Microsoft Strategy gurus credit for "cutting the cord" with Intel and controlling their own destinys and the hell with the "INTEL ROADMAP" aligning with "CPQ/HP/HPE ROADMAPs". Reliance on Intel Roadmap put was a huge deteriment to being responsive to customers needs and the ability drive solutions.

"On a Cleard Day" many of us recall the "Alpha Processor".

Now once again we are aligning to the AMD Roadmap which currently has the lead in manufacturing and chip technologies.

I don’t work for HPE anymore since I got laid off in July.

I wouldn’t be surprised if tech companies like HP/HPE/Dell etc. would start making their own silicon. I did see that HPE is hiring a VLSI engineer so who knows what the strategy is for that. We’ll see how AMD’s Zen will treat their customers.

If these companies start making their own silicon, then it will likely be another SKU. I don’t think they will completely abandon Intel or AMD yet. It’s not unlikely that we will see a downfall of Intel in the near future.
