Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Does any other Fortune 500 company demote their executives system wide on a regular basis as much as UP?

Some of these guys that are superintendents once again achieved that rank the first time before the SP merger. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Anyone else noticed a decrease in the sunshine pumpers as of late? Come on I want my cheerleading section back.

The real question needing to be asked if you demoted someone to a lesser job why continue to pay them the same salary they had from the position they were demoted from. The company complains about spending money when anyone with half a brain cell left in their skull would wonder hey why are we paying directors a comparable salary as an AVP or EVP still if we demoted them because they did a $hitty job. But nope let’s keep shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars to guys who just couldn’t do the job right after we demoted them.
