Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Lack of innovation?

There is a saying that goes something like "the companies must innovate and grow or die". Does it seem to you that Optum can no longer boast of its innovation? I think something must be done about that because if we stand still the competition will eat us alive. Maybe it’s hard to be an innovative company with such a high turnover of people? What do you think?

It is a shame that the top leadership is aware that innovation is needed. But not able to stop the loss of momentum. Off shoring is a last ditch effort to keep the profit margin.

Our middle layers of managers has no technical experience to understand how far behind other companies.

What is the point of the "warn" nonsense if they're gonna lay us off anyway. What's the real point other than you're gonna get sh$t canned? more of nothing announcements? covering their rears?

It’s very hard to innovate when you keep laying off skilled and knowledgeable resources and those who are left are doing the work of 2-3 FTEs.

Everyone is in survival mode and we’re just chasing cheap and fast digital solutions with no focus on quality.
