@tenpastten is probably the Licensing Analyst that only sees a tiny part of the picture.
L moving Armani out of Dallas to Antima for personal trips is part of the reason.
@tenpastten
If so, what happened to the millions of dollars trying to create and establish an Armani Swiss brand product by miserabel Fossil Management?
Its very ironic Marc Jacobs terminated their contractual business with Fossil and took it to Bedrock manufacturing, the parent company of Shinola last yea!

this discussion proves that this board is a joke - you would think people working at Fossil would actually be competent about watches and Fossil partners. Giorgio Armani is the highest end of Armani: Fossil produces watches for Emporio and Exchange, i.e. Armani diffusion and fashion sub-brands, which are perfectly aligned with Fossil positioning and have actually been doing quite well, especially in Asia, for everyone to be happy and continue this partnership.
Giorgio Armani new partnership is for mechanical high end watches, probably priced 10K$ and up with absolutely no overlap with what Fossil is doing, can do and wants to do. More tellingly Parmigiani Fleuries with which Armani is partnering, produces itself no more than 5,000 watches a year which in itself explains how different these offerings will be.
This was an absolute nothing and it is depressing that a board of people who supposedly work at the company jumps on this to make it a story.
Let's count the brands that have left fossil. Burberry, Adidas, Marc Jacobs, What other brands do we know of and who is next(Armani)?
Why would a luxury brand want to be associated with a company that continues to struggle and has to continually downsize and outsource?!? Would not be surprised if Armani ends their contract with Fossil in 2023 and move all watch design and development to the new factory - and if other luxury brands will do the same!
To quote Nelson Muntz, from The Simpsons, “HaaHaa!”
You want a luxury level customer, better actually have luxury product. Armani brand is being smart.
