Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Explanation that would actually mean something to us?

Considering there is a huge downsizing of the dallas office space happening currently, with absolutley no explanation, there is the possibility that fossil will be no more. Would be cool for some kind of open conversation from the higher ups but seriously doubt that will happen. They are so disconnected from all of the employees and I dont get the feeling that they actually care how their lack of communication effects us.

I couldn’t have said this better myself than someone who commented on the +18k7ypmx thread. Just like that, people are justifiably angry at management whose shortcomings are more visible during the pandemic than ever, and I think better communication would mean a lot to us in these difficult times.
And yet, I imagine, even if they openly address us with explanations, I don’t know exactly what they would tell us that we don't already know and how useful their explanations would be to anyone?

Yeah, I feel the Kosta hate is misguided too. It almost sounds like it’s coming from people who didn’t experience Kosta in our better executive team days. It’s not just a him issue, it’s them. We have a lot of do-nothing, kick the can, uninspired people around him these days. That needs to be overhauled big time. We need Mark Quick, Mike Barnes caliber people back in the mix, etc.

Sorry, I agree...Kosta isn't the problem. He needs to simply clean house and rebuild the brand he co-founded with his brother the way they initially intended it to be.

Fossil was very top heavy and EVERYBODY wanted to lead, yet didn't have the know how to succeed in doing so.

Unpopular opinion:
I don’t think getting rid of Kosta is the heaven sent solution it’s being made out to be. I think the problem isn’t Kosta in leadership. I think it’s Kosta + the echo chamber. Kosta doesn’t have anyone around him who will disagree with him like, say, a brother would have the gall and confidence to do. Kosta + Tom was the winning combination, and he can be effective again if he starts cleaning house of yes men who are only here to reap the money they can before Fossil goes off the cliff.

Amen to Kosta needing to retire, his days of being an effectively leader are behind him. He says he cares about employees yet we are all doing more and making less. Plus he keeps a group of direct reports that aren’t effective.

Can't agree more with getting rid of Kosta and Darren, but why stop there? I say take the list of senior leaders and fire them all. None of them are any good Greg, Steve, Adele, Lucinda, Hacker and so on are all horrible jokes.

Pulse survey is a joke. Confidential, yeah right. The only time I really let them have it is when I knew others on my team were prepared to put it all out there as well. It worked that time, but everyone knows you keep your cards close to the vest on pulse, lest they be used against you for daring to expose workplace toxicity.

Don’t waste your time on pulse. A good friend of mine works under Darren and they said that when the pulse results aren’t good, Darren will just change them. You heard it here!!

Simple answers. Remove Darren H immediately. He is worthless and very disrespected by all. Remove a few more ELT as they are incompetent (we’re not selling, time to go).

Kosta should have retired years ago when he actually had some goodwill from the employees. Now he has none. He’s become, sorry for puns, a fossil.

They don’t want to communicate to us because it’s not good news. Whether it’s JCP moving in because we can’t afford our bills and they can’t either or if it’s more layoffs as well, we will never get a straight answer from these “leaders”.

Git read of the worthless weight especially Darren and Kosta. At least our region seems in agreement.

There is a way to communicate what lies ahead that would put minds at ease while also not divulging every detail. THAT would be healthy communication and leadership.

It's so frustrating for them to expect us to be productive and passionate about our work and making Fossil successful when they keep us in the dark in this toxic environment!

I urge everyone to put their real views and concerns in the newest Pulse survey, which they stupidly call Pulse Check In. Because I suppose they know we’re all fed up with surveys, especially if they don’t lead to meaningful action!
