Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Having competent leaders is important. Halliburton has enormous debt and not a lot of income, but our equity is rising because investors have confidence in the leadership team... now we just need for them not to expand too fast, cut too deep, or offer Baker Hughes any $3.5 billion breakup fees (that was poor leadership).

No field hand could put in a work day that starts around 7 ends at 3. Eat at the company cafeteria go for a 1 mile run
Be back in the big desk office to listen in on the 4th conference call of the day!!!!
Then battle Houston traffic to get home!!!
Then you throw in the required Alaska fishing trips the King Ranch hunts. Then the numerous vendor sponsored fishing hunting trips!!!! It is a life that a mere mortal field hand could handle.

They started as accountants

The executive board is earning every cent of their pay. They work harder than the scrubs and bottom feeders. Do you see the sweat on their shirts the mud on their faces as they continue to carve up the remaining worth of the company. It will be Enron at the end of the company's life.

If that was the case then engineers who started off with knowing everything would be owning the company, let alone stop at after becoming executives!

I think most start out as engineers, with no clue how to do the work. The amount of waste is astronomical.

So do you think the executives started their careers as executives? Or do you think they started at lower levels (with some degree under their belts) and progressed to those levels? Do you think a company with all tool pushers with no leaders and mangers would do better? If so, what would those ‘tool pushers’ in such a company aspire to become? or would they all be content being ‘took pushers’ forever? Think deep before you make such mo-onic statements!

Its a rip off. You do the hard work with no raises for who know how long. The Vp's get all the credit for your work and get rewarded every year.

They do not add any real value to the company ! Everyone knows that.

All they do is do is collect power point slides from their subordinates and make *wise a– * decisions.

Look how that has turned out so far !!
