Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Now 31 Kmarts

Yay, we bopped out another two! Cool!
OK, finally, after doing Hours of painstaking research, I have linked the 2 Puerto Rican Kmarts that are closing. I do not consider closings until and unless they are verified. Well, now they are verified. Soooooo, here are the links:

https://www.facebook.com/kmartmaya/

Now, for the main event: Here is the new list. We are at 31 Kmarts, with 24 in the U.S., & 7 in various territories. I do not and will not count Brooklyn, as it is a Sears that sells a few cereal boxes and mayonnaise jars in the basement, not a full line Sears. It was just a silly novelty that Eddie Lampert came up with 1 Day, at Bingo. But I will not count it.
This is the original format of lists I have been making since 2019, and the same format, including the statistics section at the bottom, will remain. My map only has the US based Kmarts, so that map is not changing at this point.
If anyone wants to discuss counts or statistics, have at it. If people start trolling or personal attacking, they will be ignored.

We are now at 31 Kmarts total, 24 of which are in the US. I have changed my map to reflect this as well:

So are you saying there are no more open Little Ceasars in Kmart?

Sorry, forgot to close the quotation marks below. I hate un-closed quotes: "

I mean, if Sears were to close all their stores in, Say, Alaska, one could write "Sears is closing all their Alaskan stores. Or Californian stores. Or Floridian stores. Or Canadian stores. Or Mexican stores. Or French stores (if they ha any in France). Etc..

Not sure why someone would get offended by Puerto Rican stores? It was certainly not meant to be offensive, my wife is Puerto Rican. I Love Puerto Rico.

Reference by location is, "Sears closing their stores in Canada". If a Puerto Rican restaurant (reference to ethnicity) opens up in Toronto, that restaurant certainly is not located in Puerto Rico, following your logic.

Well the stores are in Puerto Rico so they are Puerto Rican stores. It's no different from referring to Sears closing their Canadian stores, as they did previously. It is referring to Geography, pretty much. Writing "Canadian Sears" or "Puerto Rican Sears", or "Floridian Sears", or what have you, refers to location, not necessarily ethnicity.

Ya growing up, I would call the car, Chevy Taco. I just like tacos, so I always substituted that word. It's just an inside joke with my parents, LOL!

This is to the poster below this: And you're basing that comment on what reason? You have no way of Knowing for sure, that they won't go in the next round. I happen to think (but of course I'm not 100% sure) that those 4 probably WILL close soon. It just makes zero sense to send trucks to 4, far-off locations, with no nearby stores for the trucks to stop at. It is just not Cost-effective. So I predict Marshall, Hamilton, SIlver Spring, and Hyannis close very soon. We shall see.

Those won't be going in the next round. Sorry.

LOL, if I lived anywhere near those 4 states, I would. In any case, expect those 4 in the next round, because it is inefficient to send trucks to far-flung locales that have no other stores nearby.

Why NOW? Did you make any purchases to help wind down the inventory?

Those 4 states that only have 1 each, those locations need to close NOW.

Thank you, kind sir. You have single handidly kept this list empire alive and afloat through it all. I sincerely wish you and your family, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, New Years, Or Whatever you celebrate! If you would be so kind as to continue this venture until we finally and hopefully, see this list to the zero it deserves, I would appreciate it. Happy closings, my brother!

@sas+18mKj8qX LOL, every store on this list "lives to fight Another Day". Not sure what's so special about WESTWOOD Kmart though. Is it an odd fetish of yours? It's an old dumpy store, in a decrepit, run down shopping center. The only reason they're open is that they can't get anyone to lease it, much like in Avenel NJ. Both have been listed for ages.

Whether on purpose or accident, those are still errors. Serious professional journalists do not make jokes, "LOL"

Taco was written as a joke. Thats why it is followed by LOL. Pharmacy status was only indicated for US based stores, as per description below list. Brooklyn is Sears and will never be included in here. Brooklyn is not listed on kmart.com. List is accurate

Brooklyn missing the Kmart, pharmacy markers missing on offshore units, South Lake Tahoe misspelled. So many errors.

Few interesting tidbits. Kmarts remaining, that are in the same town as a Sears:

  • Hato Rey, Silver Spring, Miami, Long Beach, NYC (but different boroughs, because Kmart is in Manhattan, Bronx while Sears (AND NOT KMART) is in Brooklyn).

Kmarts that are in the same town as a Target (this might be incomplete, but off the top of my head):

  • Hyannis, White Plains, Long Beach, Miami, NYC.

Kmarts in 1 store states:

  • Hyannis, Marshall, Silver Spring, Hamilton.

Look at some combination of these to be hit next (probably not NYC, but much of the others).

I'm so sorry, I messed up. My bad. I forgot to delete those 2 PR Kmarts from the list. This list is always ready on my computer for me to modify, and I forgot to delete them LOL! I fixed it:
