After all, Brooklyn has separate LP for the Sears side and LP for the KMart basement. Only the best for Eddie’s transformative concept store. Fight me with a 2 by 4 if you want to keep up the lie that Brooklyn is not a Kmart.

I say to call it SearsMart. :)
Well, its still only one store, so it can only have one name. What should we call it "Kears" or "SMart"? I vote for Kears, because SMart spells smart and combining Sears and KMart definitely was not smart.
Eddie's really trying to bury that reply that he's widely "renown as the worst and most incompetent CEO/owner in history", huh.
Enough about the store, the real unsung heros are the LP team. We need more posts supporting them
Who f—ing cares?!? They'll both close together at some point. What difference does it make?
Hey mods, lock this sh– up, please. Its a spam trolling thread.
Who cares?
Some actually had a Sears logo outside (the location that comes to mind is the Kmart in Alabama that converted its garden shop into a Sears appliance store). Most did not have a Sears sign and simply had a banner that said something like Sears home appliances now available @ Kmart. All of the fixtures and sale signing was Sears format. The whole concept was mostly a pain to deal with. The manager on duty had to make sure they had their discount card (this was back when we actually had them) in order to provide an override if there was a price reduction, etc. several nights I was on duty I had to tell customers sorry I can’t sell this discounted floor model to you because the manager/ key carrier forgot their discount/override card at home. 🙄 the managers were just not used to having to use a card to override because on the Kmart POS they only had to type in their override code. Another issue always had was managers getting mad because they said we never did anything so they would pull us from the department to get a cart run or cover breaks. Sorry customer, I was covering service desk while you were waiting to buy and washer and dryer! This was back when men had to wear a dress shirt and tie so customers always thought we were the manager so they would come storming up to us yelling about how the bathroom was filthy, etc. try doing a cart run in the pouring rain or loading 10 bags of mulch in a white shirt and tie, then get called to sell a $2000 refrigerator. We were constantly told by the HA DM not to allow managers to pull us, but good luck trying that 🙄.
Thanks for explaining "cross merch". A few stores on the Sears.com store locator are actually Kmarts and are listed this way:
https://www.sears.com/stores/new-york/bridgehampton/0005205.html listed as "Kmart 9423 / Cross Merch # 5205" in Bridgehampton, NY
https://www.sears.com/stores/new-york/bronx/0005208.html listed as "Kmart 9420 / Cross Merch # 5208"
and there used to be a few others such as West Lebanon, NH (now closed)
https://www.sears.com/stores/new-hampshire/west-lebanon/0002766.html listed as "Kmart 7048 / Cross Merch # 2766"
Ahh, but the clencher is, did those small Sears appliance stores inside the Kmarts have a Sears sign outside?
Soon enough, all the remaining stores will shut down for good and all of this won't matter...not that it really matters anyway.
Here is one way to look at it: for many years Kmart ran a Sears home appliance department that was staffed by Kmart associates, but rang appliances up on a Sears POS. It was never known as a Sears store. They were always called Kmart, they just happened to ring some merchandise on a Sears POS system. They were officially called a Kmart cross merchant that were actually remotely connected to a nearby Sears store which was known as the “mother store” while the Kmart home appliance department was known internally as the “daughter store”. The cash bag was balanced in the Kmart cash office and was added in as a miscellaneous dispersement which was always a pain in the a— to deal with/balance when they had a cash transaction. The total sales were eventually added into the total store sales, but it took a day to be added to the store totals as it had to be manually imputed. My point in all of this is that the Sears home appliance department at Kmart was never counted as or known as a separate store location, just a Kmart which happened to sell some Sears merchandise on a Sears POS. Eventually the department was vastly scaled back and the Sears register was removed along with the sales associates and the extremely basic set of appliances were sold on Kmart registers by regular cashiers. A very small set of Kmart locations kept their Sears register and dedicated sales associates (very high volume locations like Guam).
I hope he closes this damn store next, so you deranged preschoolers can stop arguing about the name of a freaking store, already for crying out loud. Grow up.
LP is specifically designated for the KMart in Brooklyn to ensure that there is no theft of high value items like detergent, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. LP for the Sears parts of the building are not enough.
I wish Eddie never came up with the idea of opening a Kmart inside of a Sears for this exact reason.
Oh STFU with the Brooklyn store sh!t already, it's getting old! Like a damn dog that sinks his teeth into something and won't let it go. Move on.
Will gladly take you up on that offer. Have 2 by 4, will travel. Brooklyn is a Sears that sells some ketchup bottles in their basement. It is not a Kmart and will not be counted as such. There is just 1 store MANAGER in that whole building (and several assistant managers who cover all floors). The basement does NOT have it's own store manager, or it's own breakroom. It is a Sears.
Eddie's combining of Sears and Kmart. Is the move that got him widely renown as the worst and most incompetent CEO/owner in history to the point it's taught in business schools really the hill you want to die on?
