Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Anybody else wishes WFH would always be an option?

I won't lie, working from home has changed my life. It shaved off nearly three hours of commute time each day. Even with the pandemic, I have rarely been happier. More time with family, more time for reading... And it has improved my work, I don't think I've ever been more productive!

So what does the company have to lose if it allows us to work from home for good? They can save money on offices and gain happier and more productive workforce. What's the downside?

Be careful what you wish for. While WFH has it's personal benefits, an effective WFH demonstration only leads to "WFH is turbocharged when the Home is India"

Cummins has been replacing onshore personnel to offshore remote resources for several years!
Now, with all of the additional cost cuts, there is no doubt that they are looking to where they can increase that volume.

You are not the only one that feels this way or in that situation. Much efficiency to be had and win win situations. However there are others that rather go into an office everyday for whatever reason. It should be an option offered. The downside is, why not replace you with cheaper labor from some other remote location?
