901 was the beginning to end. The building stroked some egos. It was than we ever needed. It’s a nicely renovated building, but in a dumpster part of town.

Having proudly walked every floor of that group of buildings, this makes me sad. Such great design, one of the best corporate HQ’s I’ve worked in. Who could have predicted NewWorld Fossil would have led to a shared space with JCPenney....the company is on its way to becoming its own Relic.

Insecure much....

If this is true, this is good news. I’m sure the building is expensive, so sharing space and moving some of the cost burden to another company is just smart. And, if it gets me a more flexible work from home option, then woo hoo! Go fossil!

JCP was leasing space in a building they initially built but later sold.....so I believe this all to be true and you all will be sharing space with JCP and other companies as well. Companies are fast moving to shared space with less need for a fully functioning office. WFH, especially in Finance and Accounting is the new norm...that is unless you all are about to be outsourced which looks to be the case for your Accounting function.

The rumors are true. Jcp will be moving into part of the main building. Shared workspaces and work from home will be the new norm for fossil

There were plans to sublease part of 901 early 2019...whether to JCP or anyone else....this isn't new people. The writing was on the wall WELL before 2019!

The JCP rumor makes no sense. JCP was already subleasing part of their HQ building pre Covid. It doesn't make sense to expend the cost to move when they are shrinking and already have a pipeline for subleasing existing space.

Been wondering also when this topic was gonna surface. The JCP board doesn’t have intel either.

Might be a worse kept secret than the annual layoffs. “No one knows anything” is BS, as the 901 office workers across all departments all suddenly being told to clean out and clear rooms. They are courting a tenant at the very least, make the place look move in ready for March... which, hey! Seems familiar...

Moving the remaining staff out of tower building (well except IT probably) and only onto the single level building section.... think about it - even with a mix WFH staggered schedule, or smaller cubes, or 2x people per cube... (so forget about social distancing?)
honestly still think there’s room for everybody in the lifeboats?!?!
🌊🧊🚢🛶🆘

Layoffs / “New World Fossil 3.0 / MVO minimal viable organization / enhanced operational cost reduction - whatever you wanna call it, looks inevitable.

I have heard 2 rumors going around.

  1. We will be moved to the basement of Fossil’s corporate building and the rest of the building will be leased out.
  2. There have been talks with the new owners of the JCP building for Fossil to lease part of the building.

Who’s knows if there are other options Fossil is looking at and if the above are just rumors!
