Everybody I work with is unhappy. Not just unsatisfied, but utterly, profoundly unhappy and hating their jobs with a passion. It was never this bad before. So I ask, how long can morale stay this low? How long before the productivity suffers so much that everything comes to a standstill?

Honestly, we are all screwed, corporations will gut this country and we will be left with blithering id–ts who just say "do what you are told," "keep your head down," "it's for the greater good," "grow a pair and work harder." In reality it is about what benefits the individual and right now there is alot of people who will benefit from towing the "socialist" company line. Nevermind if the peons are disenfranchised, they eat too much anyway. Fun Times.
People just come here to complain. It's 2020, everyone is offended by something no matter what. For the record, it's a pandemic and EVERYONE is dragging their arse and dealing with a situation that they hadn't planned. Sick relatives, home schooling, working from home 24/7, people worried about job security due to the business being crippled by a virus with a 99.75% recovery rate. You don't need to have an MBA to realize that productivity is suffering in many companies. So, rather than coming to a public forum, why don't you try doing something about it? You will see all of the "negative" responses to this post from all of the other muppets who just come here to gossip, whine and moan who don't have the testicular fortitude or mental ability to help make change.... so go ahead, click on the minus button and keep throwing gas on the fire you mental midget.
I feel sad for the current state of affairs. I remember Staples at the Holidays a long time ago , when stores were busy, and the lines for Black Friday deals were over 100 customers long at 6 AM. Morale was great . The Holiday parties and get togethers were awesome. A store party was something to look forward to and managers and associates had a wonderful time. It was a different world then . And Staples people couldn’t wait to go to work each day. It was that good.
There were many great things about Staples, sadly , most of it is in the past. Not every brand last forever.
At the company’s best moments , Staples was a well respected retailer . Every article published was positive . They could do no wrong.
To all the associates who remember those times....HAPPY HOLIDAYS .
Yet 52% would ‘recommend to a friend’ on Glassdoor. I realize a lot of that is part timers at the stores but I would hope more people who feel this way would post a review to warn others.
Being let go from this toxic place was the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. You don’t realize just how miserable it is until you’re out! Good luck to those who can’t see it... there IS life after Staples
Leave and you will discover the weight of the world lift from your shoulders. You will literally have nightmares, for awhile, as you recover from the trauma of such a dysfunctional company but peace will come. You will never cease to be amazed at how such incompetent managers/leaders can continue to exist/thrive in their roles and even get promoted.
The layoffs will continue until morale improves.
Whining in a form has never fixed anything. You don’t like it? Resign or try to make positive change.
Idk, I like the ppl I directly work with but the amount of work put on our shoulders is unreasonable and making everything miserable
You know its bad when SD's weekly updates are 10% business and 90% social justice woke warrior (sigh). Hopefully SP finds a buyer soon. Anyone would be better than current ownership and leadership.
Such a weak post Troll. Nobody cares. Your unhappy? Boohoo. Fix it.
