Been told that this week supervisors can layoff up to 2 people from their team if needed. No quota just a little preemptive housecleaning. Thinking is to cut loose low performers to save some bonus money. Makes sense. This does not change the fact that January 2021 will be 5 years from the massive 2016 layoffs. Hearing 2021 layoffs will make 2016 layoffs trivial al. Good luck all!

I count 7 people in HQ and 2 in WV I know these two personably let go. So much for a Merry Christmas.
Unbelievable. I took some work home last night and went to my supervisor first thing to report out my analysis from last night and got dismissed. Walked out in front of the team. Professionally embarrassing. Shaking right now so upset
This board and who ever posted it was right. Layoffs happened this week.
It can’t ever be like the 2016 layoffs, there aren’t nearly the count there now to be comparable. Wishing all best of luck, things may change and things may get better
I have it on good authority that they’re getting the an important jaw dropping email prepared to be sent from the account with the “ J “ middle initial, to signal more importance and significance. Be ready! It may or may not be sent at 5am central time.
An earlier post is incorrect. It’s not a couple of people on this board. I know several here in Spring plus at least two in WV. One is a manager. Everyone who posts here is brave but the truth is needed.
Hey all. No kidding with this post. I made the original post yesterday to give ya’ll a heads up about layoffs this week. Already seen two people walked out the door with their supervisor. Very subtle.
I realize there are a couple of jokesters that have taken this site hostage the last couple of years, but as an insider at SWN, I really feel like there is something about to happen from a downsizing standpoint. All the metrics a d signs are lining up. Supervisors and managers in a lot of meetings without their staff included, lots of assignments and take shuffled around to others, in which some are left overwhelmed with duties and some left twiddling their thumbs. If you look at what people are likely paid based on experience, the cuts seem to be less about what someone brings to the company expertise wise, and more about simply cutting bloated salaries. I’d appreciate anyone’s serious thoughts on this matter, as I’m not one of the trolls you’re used to seeing on this forum.
Hi I am your supervisor. No need to buy me breakfast. Your pink slip is in my desk. This is truly the most joyous time of the year. Bah humbug!
I came in early to try and get a beat on my Supervisors plans to likely layoff 2 people prior to Christmas. There are 5 of us reports, and I’m the only WM in the group, so I’m getting here earlier to try to make an impression. Should I buy my Supervisor breakfast? Or is that insulting? I just can’t get laid off. I’m very worried about this.
This is Captain Obvious. Last past is an imposter. Be alert be safe and be nice
Don’t worry, my head is on a swivel. Good corporate intel there, Captain Obvious.
Omg. The fact that a report from Spring and PA are basically the same. Be weary if your supervisor wants to meet with you this week.
You all are wrong regarding bonus’. They will payout a partial bonus if you get laid off. If you are let go for performance, you are not owed a thing. Quit trying to get people upset over something that may or may not happen.
Here in Spring, a few of us Supervisors are in on the contest. Extra bonuses for those of us who can implement our two staff layoffs prior to Christmas. I have a bet with my buddy who’s also a supervisor that I can turn in my list of two prior to her. This initiative of keeping people (mainly Supervisors) excited and engaged as well as saving some money for the company is a win win going into the new year. I have a couple of slacker under performers slated up to let loose on 12/23. Cold hearted? Maybe. Cold hard cash? Definitely!
Whoa had seent a few supervisors come back from lunch together. When I approached my supervisor they got quiet. What I heardt as I walk up to them was my supervisor saying how easy his spot bonus wuz for laying off someone before Christmas. How c-appy is that. Guess some kids up her in PA won’t be having a Mary Christmas
Whoever posted this is partially true. I have it on good authority that Middle Management has authority to layoff as many as 2 people as well, but they can also defer to after New Years as well if they so choose. Way would prefer to have ways to fire people for cause rather than offer up a hefty severance package. Very true that this will save money on bonuses in the New Year. This person is very keen on understanding the company politics at the moment.
