This board has become a burning dumpster fire. I had hoped it would be a place we could share ideas on how to find a new job and offer encouragement. I’ve seen a couple of threads last week I think where people tried to change the tone but it always seems to return to petty name calling. Signing off. Good luck to everyone.

I bought into the safety is a value tal from Rex. Then I worked at the company and saw how we handle case management and the arm twisting that goes on to get the PHL as low as possible. Some crazy stuff.
Some of us do check in and voice from time to time, but honestly, it's hard to stay too bitter when the pension remains, you have me savings than most people, and you land a job that matters lunches about 3 times a week, has fully paid medical for the whole family, still has a full company match, and you feel appreciated at the new job. So much of Exxon is petty BS. Exxon doesn't care about the environment (the same problem areas still have oil on the ground and have for years) and the safety system is about protecting the company from lawsuits and not safety. A good friend (SHE manager) admitted as much to me. If you're going to tell the truth, you won't get along with management. And that's why you're let go... And when you leave it'll be clear that there are better opportunities out there.

Outta here too. Was a nice place to vent for a while and to share some little known mostly ugly truths about EM, but it's pretty much all gutter talk now.

I like the informative posts here - what has happened at work lately or tips for job hunting. However, many of the posts look like trolls, just tossing inflammatory statements out to see how many people will take the hook and reply.

To be clear, I believe those who were PIPed (too old a story) and Laid off recently are not coming on this website for the most part. They have moved on and don't care. This site is mostly visited by current EM employees which fall in 2 categories:
Honest ones who realize what kind of snakes still remain and wonder how they could help save the organization that brought food on their tables (very very few)
Dishonest ones who are VERY WORRIED about this site as they realize now employees have a forum to expose or hint about their ongoing fraud and lies. They want us all to move on from this website so they are safe. many e.,g. people like data fudging supervisor of land workers at the research org in the upstream)

Same here. Checking the boards has become a bit of a routine for me but I am now looking to out this chapter of my life behind me. Good night and good luck everyone. I hope 2021 is better for all of us than 2020 has been. Scratch that. Bar is too low. Let’s try have a better year than 2019 lol.
