This forum has served its purpose of keeping people informed (albeit with some sketchy, usually speculative, and sometimes completely unreliable information). If you survived the involuntary period (or even if you didn’t), do yourself a favor and don’t spend any more time on here. The mix of posts on here don’t represent the XOM population at large, and it’s simply too much unwarranted negativity and toxic discussion. It’s not healthy, and you’d be better served spending time with family or watching funny pet videos. This forum will warp your reality. ✌️

This is a transparent forum and serves the wider community well. There is nothing to hide, constructive feedbacks should be encouraged. Go tell DW it is time to grow up, faced it like a real man, there is nothing to be afraid of. When one is paid so much, face it with arms open.
Work groups will now be smaller because em axed more individual contributors than managers on a relative basis. You who are left, look around, observe the evidence, and make up your own mind. These things are easy to perceive.
Pretty easy to read a post's title to determine if possible value.
At this point - I'll certainly read (and potentially post) anything related to navigating the mid and after layoff experience.
If you thought EM corporate gas-lighting was difficult,
the navigation of EM lay-off (webslights, paper-quirk, mumbling counselors) takes it up a knotch.
So - any posts providing insight and advice/experience in this area is Highly Valuable.
Every single person I talk to feels exactly like what you read on this board. I am a manager. More layoffs are coming as part of the reorg so i recommend you stay tuned and do keep reading.
Agree. Captivity of negativity. Not good to your health. :)
Thanks for the advice OP (Darren). Now go back to your cat videos.
I'd love to find the OP and kick him right in the nuts. F— off. You sound like EM management trying to squash the truth.
Totally agree with first thread. 50% of what is posted is straight up BS. Have fun living in your misery.....
F— is this guy? “Get off this forum” lol ok Champ, we’ll get off right away. Fvcx outta here with that b—s—.
This lets us know we are not alone, blow of some steam and read about success stories once they have moved on. It’s a place for anyone who wants to be here. I am wishing everyone the best.
If the "mix of posts on here does not represent the XOM population at large, and it’s simply too much unwarranted negativity and toxic discussion"... then perhaps the XOM population at large should start posting some positive less toxic threads on this Forum.
Hard to believe that the "XOM population at large" is not defending the mothership on a public forum after reading many of these posts by current and former employees over the last few weeks.
OP - STFU. you must be a manager that dreads dirty laundry about you is being aired here.
I think this board is valuable for everyone..... because sooner or later everyone is going to be PIPd or laid off. We can freely share information and ideas here..... something that cannot be done on company yammer.
The EM culture is toxic and has been for some time. They follow none of the leadership theories taught at the courses that we have attended and force a large population of people to stay merely because they are well compensated and historical overachievers who refuse to quit.
