Missed opportunity to flush 301 problems

The membership had the chance to get a clean break, a fresh start with their votes. Some decent challengers put themselves out there to be elected, answering the calls for change. Yet those votes went to “More of the same”.At this point the chance for change is gone, the b!tching & complaining have become irrelevant.we can now ride what ever is left of this union to the bottom of the cesspool together.

"Whoever wrote that Schenectady might be Ground Zero"...straighten it out or have it affirmed there was no issue or material issue to begin with.

Whoever wrote that Schenectady might be Ground Zero for a lot of problems, maybe you’re right. I don’t know. The FBI and the U.S. DOL have been talked to. They listened, very intently I might add. The federal gov’t is definitely involved at this point. Hopefully they’ll work it out. There’s a majority of us in Schenectady that are trying to straighten sh– out.

It seems to be that no matter what the original subject is of any post made on this site, it always somehow goes back to Schenectady, Local 301, or Building 273. Somebody will post about a totally unrelated GE site and sooner or later commenting about Schenectady, 301, or 273 will pop up. This leads me to believe that either most of the people active on this site are employees of Schenectady and can't keep themselves from making it all about themselves, or Schenectady is Ground Zero for GE's problems.

Section 503a allows loans of up to $2000 to union officers

Why can't you people start a group chat or talk mask to mask? Everyday its some 301 273 bullsh!T. Don't worry after the holidays you'll get your free GE vaccine. Have you asked your union what they intend to do for that?

Yup, that’s true. I’ll be doing that. I’d rather my money go anywhere else. Everyone who can see through the facade should. Still need to find out exactly what I need to do to make that happen.

Is it true that we don't have to give our dues to the union, but can donate it to some sort of charity? If so, I'm all for that! I don't want another dime of my money going to this useless, shady, piece of sh– union.

I heard about that loan but I heard it was 2,000. I heard RM took ALOT of “loans” for himself. We’ll know what’s what once the investigation is done. It was needed, that’s for sure. The agents can dig deep and find the truth, no more guessing or having to take anybody’s word for anything after it’s done.

I heard that fat slob board member in punchline JV got a $20k loan from RM that he's refusing to pay back. Any truth to that? Nice to know our dues were being stolen for peoples personal issues.

RM was the worst BA in 301’s history. JC wasn’t in a position where he was responsible for money or had control. Never used the initials LM. I used LH, from the IUE. Why would I congratulate her when what I said is truth from her own audit? Just one of the items on her list was for the ‘officer/member loan to be satisfied immediately.’ A loan was never on any financial statement, a loan wasn’t on any LM-2. That is because a loan is against the law, according to the LMRDA. and considered misappropriation of funds. That was just one item on her ‘audit’ that found “no misappropriation of funds” (except what she listed). The membership is being lied to and funds are being misappropriated no matter how it’s spun. Why would I congratulate anybody? It is our right as a membership to have accurate and correct information. When I have been consistently lied to I will call out the liars and when it’s about money I will point it out. There is no disputing that we were lied to, very often. We were not provided with information we should have been. It was hidden and kept from us purposefully. Why should I keep quiet? LH also accepted their word for what they spent ALOT of money on. She accepted it to be written in without actual receipt. Not ok at all, not for such an extremely large amount. The Feds have the ability to find exactly where that money was spent right down to who spent it. You’re forgetting that someone got the Feds involved with proof. PROOF. They do not get involved easily, not sure why you think they would do all of the work they’re doing to say, “good job” and walk away. They do small audits for that which take short amounts of time. This is more than likely a criminal investigation at this point. I’m tired of explaining. We’ll wait for whatever happens, hopefully soon.

That’s good hear and if there are no findings or material findings I’m sure congratulate the folks initials you’ve used, RM, JC, LM, etc.

You’ve got high hopes and maybe some cognitive dissonance going on. I’m not being an a$$ when I say brace yourself, you’ll be shocked. I mean it. I was. Time will bring the truth out. For now, we agree to disagree, my only goal was to make people aware.

"You’re right", I expect them to find things, determine them to be errors but not "material in nature" and require the local to commit in writing to future compliance. No one is going to jail, no one will be banned from holding future union officer roles and all of the wonderful dealings between union leaders and GE in the recent past will remain in place.

You’re right, it’s all BS about the gov’t investigating 5 years back because they saw some concerning activity. Everyone knows Feds love wasting their own time, it’s what they do, right?! A normal audit closes within weeks, per DOL website, but this time they decided to investigate 5 years back. 301 must be something special if it’s not for serious concerns, especially the concerns listed by LH. I’m sure those, although minimized, were no problem for the DOL. They’re having such a great time with 301, a simple audit wouldn’t do. You’re right, it’s all BS. BTW...specifics will not be given while an investigation is going on. That would be counterproductive. Only after the investigation is complete and they really find nothing can you say it’s all BS. But it’s a fact that will not happen. It’s already gone too far. But keep saying it if it helps you sleep at night, maybe you’re nervous, who knows?!

I don't think it was a missed opportunity at all. The anti-Slate group, small as they may be, had their say, Slate was retained. Opportunity maximized, current slate reaffirmed.

Don’t feel so down. The gov’t is doing what our membership refuses to do. The change is coming, we’re about to get a real nice clean up. 5 years back baby, some of us know how bad the money was being used and abused, others will be shocked. I can’t wait. This is going to be a 301 rebirth!

Sickening post. it's a union and the majority rules. What don't you understand about that?

You do not a superior position or thought process. Geez, move on a) off the topic and b) preferably out of GE

Love you post a "real union". Name 3-4 thing recent union leadership was swung and missed on. I mean on policy/interaction with GE.
