Election 2020 - Hope or S.O.S. - Nothing changes ??

Funny to see the posts here and the the replies concerning the Election of Officers down on Broadway. All the promises of change but – by whom ?? With the only real exception of the BA that was replaced by a temp - who's now in charge - again - by whom ?? A Vice President who moved up? Nothing will change and sweetheart deals will continue all to "save Union jobs '. The only jobs being saved are those "Goomba's" down on Broadway. Unity Slate survives- I can see the smug smiles on their faces as they are now the "Golden Boys" of Local 301. I only hope the VRIP is worth it !

Oh no, not doing that. There’s an investigation going on at the moment. The IUE and the National were told there’s evidence by multiple people however they chose to ignore it and not even contact the individuals to ask what the evidence was or to see it. Nobody is able to do the math on this except the IRS and the gov’t investigators. We are limited to whatever the hall allows us to see, whatever they choose to write, the decide what to tell or not tell, what to manipulate, etc. The investigators have access to everything right down to surveillance cameras. They are experts, not us. None of us are qualified nor do we have the information needed to figure it out. Whether you believe it or not, it doesn’t matter. I know what I know, you’ll have to wait. Do you have any idea what it takes to get an agent’s attention? They don’t speak to anyone without legitimate information and evidence. Whatever the outcome, it will be good for the membership. 301 desperately needed this. No more lies, deception, and misrepresentation. Just truth from a complete and extremely thorough investigation.

Where have you been? There have been plenty of specific complaints. There can’t be names listed on here so you need to read between the lines. Read past posts for specific complaints. Misappropriation of funds has been a big one for a long time, LH confirmed it, Feds are now looking back 5 years. Feds obviously have a very different take on what’s an acceptable amount to misappropriate than LH. Not to mention, the list of various violations and unlawful activity. LH’s audit matches with the member’s complaints. Read it. LH minimized her findings and most likely disregarded a few but the gov’t won’t. When their investigation is done you’ll have a very specific report to read and I’m sure it will match the members complaints along with some the members probably didn’t know.

No anti-slaters every offer details as to the specific offenses nor the specific beef with union decision over last 5 years. Speak up or shut up

The anti-slate poster who talks of the Feds and the other anti-slate posters who talk of the nepotism and bedroom activity with the company aren’t lying. You people believe the hall is a real Union fighting for us even though the proof says otherwise. You’ll believe anything those jokes say, you’re not going to believe the truth until it smacks you in the face. I am patiently waiting because with the Feds involved (and that is a fact nobody can dispute) it’s coming.

I agree on the CA. The anti-slate poster lies. He either was impacted by the CA (too dumb qualify for a higher paying role) or objects to flexibility in where regardless of seniority he can be told "pick up broom"

The local’s National provides help when the members and locals need it. Further, they assist the local in providing info to the members so the members can make fully informed decisions on matters that affect their locals. This thing of “manage yourself” seems to relieve someone’s responsibilities when obviously the local members are at unrest and need help to manage the local.

Instead of paying dues you can pay an agency fee. That means the Union doesn’t actually get any of your money. I’m not positive how to go about that but it’s worth looking into. Money is the best way to send a message since it seems to be all they care about right up to the National.

Isn't there a way to stop paying union dues? They just piss the money away and milk the membership for more. I for one I'm tired of the bs.

Why would the National get involved over the will of the Local 301 members majority vote?

Complaints were made to the National and the IUE by multiple members. They did nothing. Literally, nothing. LH from the IUE did an “audit” and listed violations, unlawful activity, and misappropriation of funds, yet minimized it and wrote in the same “audit” that there was no misappropriation found. Crazy contradictions, so bad that people thought it was a joke. For real. So the IUE found problems and did nothing. That’s one of the reasons why the U.S. DOL is involved. It’s better this way. Those ‘good ‘ol boys’ are going to wish they took our concerns seriously. It’s already been over a year, Feb. will be 1 year since the hall was contacted about the “audit.” Most recently the “simple audit” turned into an investigation going back 5 years. The membership couldn’t pay for better help if we tried, we have all the help we need to make some change. Those smug smiles are going to turn into tears one of these days. Once the Feds finish what they’re doing and come to Schenectady we’ll be able to build back a real Union. Investigations of this magnitude take time, I pray they’re close to wrapping it up. It’s been one hell of a ride.

Too true. As a similar believer nothing will change unless the National gets involved. God forbid you'd complain on a local level. Even with Seniority your life would be Hell. There is NO Union anymore , sad to say.
