Anyone heard any rumors about Shell Convent? I know it’s closing, but keep hearing there is a buyer. In the process of shutting it down now just praying for something to come through. Also- anyone know the likelihood of transfer to Shell Geismar or Norco?

They’d be stupid not to hire operations back at a minimum but, they are not interested in dealing with a/the Union.
If Motiva buys- do you think they will hire all the employees back?
Rumor on the street is Motiva will be buying it after 90 days of doors being closed to get Union out.
Depends how many at geismar and norco take a package but I doubt they’ll have enough room for even 15% of the people at convent.
Shell had a chance to unload Convent when the Motiva JV broke-up but the greedy Dutch wanted too much and the Saudi's walked away. Bet they would like to renegotiate that deal.
