Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Will this be done by departments?

Or will they spread it out? Several coworkers received invitations for a private meeting with our manager and they're resigned to the fact that that's it for them. What I'd like to know is, if our department has already been hit, does it mean we are done? Will they be done with everybody tomorrow or will they do it on some other basis? At least some of us could relax if we knew we were done, not have to stress for two more weeks.

From other replies it seems to be different every where. One poster said everyone will get a phone call from their supervise over the next few days.

Another said they got a nod they are safe but still have a 1:1 this week.

My friend has a 1:1 tomorrow. My supervisor hasn’t been made a communicator (so is she going or am I safe along with the one other direct report?)

So much for “communicator” training. The terminating doesn’t look to have any consistency at all!
