They can't possibly sustain the expensive cost centers when the company is not selling product, leasing copiers or generating per-click income. The professional photography segments are decimated with practically no events to shoot. Smartphones have completely replaced consumer cameras. The company divested itself of much of the medical imaging and life science divisions. The huge corporate HQ in Melville is almost empty. Hiring is practically frozen. Subsidiaries are shrinking at a rapid clip. What's left of the full time workers? Most are remote and likely very concerned. IT is systematically replacing employees with consultants. Service and support groups have been slashed to a bare minimum. E-commerce sales are declining rapidly. Seriously, what's left? What's the hail mary plan?

How will this effect Canon Cvi newport news? They seem to continue to just move members from dept to dept and not layoff. At some point, the inevitable will come true for those in their current and comfortable positions.
