Thread regarding Optum layoffs

The calm before the storm

Does anyone else find it a little eerie that absolutely nothing is happening right now?

Yah, theres alot of corporate simping and kissing rear of the multi millionaires and billionaires as they lay hard working teammates off, get paid peanuts, weak benies, etc. We're all US slaves and the government /MSM was simply the propaganda cheerleader

Never carry a balance on your Bravos. Convert them into Gift Cards, because if you are fired or laid off, you'll lose your Bravo points.

It is NOT calm. There are folks working 16 hours a day right now in planning and forecasting. And they help to deal with payroll costs. I guess those folks are the only ones plus HR that will NOT be in any layoffs.

Due to Covid and other cost issues impacting health plans, it comes down to who can best increase revenue and lower costs.

You may be on a list. I know for sure I am on a list but they are hoping I would quit (I almost did but then they would win). That is one way to lower payroll costs is to make folks miserable but we cant leave. Not during Covid. You give up so so so much. I do what I swore I never would do would be to go to HR. For sure I be on top of the layoff list. At least I am not like my boss. He does have a disorder for sure.

Narcissistic personality disorder — one of several types of personality disorders — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others.

Have you ever driven a jalopy? It goes a few miles then breaks down, goes another few miles breaks again and again until it can no longer run?

Its coming. I have already heard there will be another ask for headcount reduction before March likely. It is across all lines of business but not sure how much Optum specific.

Totally. I am spending as much of my benefits as I can right now (pto, cme, license renewals etc).

Absolutely. I'm sure there are more cuts on the horizon before March. Management has been quiet and distant lately.
