UP doesn’t have any external jobs posted for the first time in a while. Not even anything for the poor interns. Not even the 6 or 7 lawyer postings they usually have. They need to start hiring some dispatchers before they have to get the DJs from the local radio stations in Omaha to help out.

Why would they hire more dispatchers? Gee, because there is a shortage and they’re struggling to fill shifts? You must be a certified genius
CP is still full bore PSR. Not sure where you are getting your information. Unfortunately this isn’t going away no matter how much we wish it would. These cuts are here to stay.
Why would they hire more dispatchers? Now you guys don’t have time to go walk around the track or sit out on the couches on Facebook. There were way to many dispatchers to begin with.
Where else but UP can a registered s-x offender be hired as a manager. They hired one in North Little Rock.
Just take a look at the management we have at UP that tells u how the UP hires anyone no other job wants
The railroad is about to implode. Just wait until after February when the train dispatchers and field managers receive their garbage bonuses. After that look for a lot of folks to be walking out the doors.
Yeah another college railroader! I don't how anything could go wrong there.
Heck yeah the college intern posting is back. I hope everyone at Harvard doesn’t all try to apply at once.
Only desperate applicants with no other options are applying for jobs at UP.
The smart people are staying away. Why apply for a job at a company that has been voted worst company to work for in the US two years in a row?
Annnddd...they’re hiring again.
The quality applicants were smart and stayed away. The ones that are gone, will probably stay gone. The UP needs to get away from their "Building America" motto to "Rebuilding UP".
Great points. I think he’s already the worst CEO by far and the fact that this company is now the worst rated on Glassdoor says it all. They probably pulled the job postings because they weren’t getting any quality applicants.
No surprise there! With the deletion of job openings and job abolishments, yet some people thought the worst was over. I think the grand finale is about to begin. The CP made big cuts in the very beginning, which really isn't much different than what the UP is doing. The CP scrambled at the very end to make their numbers and they failed. The CP didn't cut to the bone at the end. They cut into the bone, and rolled back the PSR BS to save what was left of the company. Unfortunately the CEO is probably going to be labeled as the worst CEO the UP has ever had, if he isn't there already.
Why would anyone apply? They’ll likely either be furloughed, laid off, or contract covid due to the return to work policy.
