Overhead Cuts for Kiewit Technology Group

Joined team meeting this morning and a couple of colleagues mentioned from high level weekly meeting that Kiewit Technology Group is looking at doing overhead cuts. Colleagues mentioned they weren’t provided much details at this time. However, things I am familiar with below:

Colleagues mentioned KTG not doing any further hirings, as well as no longer supporting or doing some projects.

Company currently eliminating or consolidating systems to reduce redundancies and overall costs.

Travel budget cut in half.

Budgets for various departments being cut.

With all the above, the only thing that comes to mind for cutting next is in regards to cutting people next. KTG does have many IT folks - some definitely are unecessary and redundant. A lot of the work can be done remotely, thus it wouldn’t be surprising if they eliminate roles for folks who don’t need physical presence in an area going forward - especially with COVID.

Be prudent if you are working within KTG. This was not news I wanted to hear this morning. Hope I am wrong; definitely keep your eyes open for opportunities in case.

Mendi Dohse from HR has conducted herself in a manner that I find utterly reprehensible. Despite my resignation being submitted on Monday, she deliberately altered my resignation date to Saturday, a move that blatantly deprived me of a day's pay. Subsequently, her decision to bombard me with emails requesting feedback on HR procedures was not only intrusive but also demonstrated a profound lack of respect and professionalism.

I am so glad that the incompetent mediocrity Dan Nash left Kiewit. Let him continue his innovation at WoodmenLife

I wonder why Dill always says during KTG meetings that he handles millions of dollars in the budget and often finds himself in a bribery situation but always rejects bribes? Something is not right here.

Nepotism at Kiewit Technlogy Group at the top management level is the worst.
Chris Dill hired his incompetent brother Corby Dill as a Director of Information Security. Really? Hey Corby, no need to hide your last name on LinkedIn. People know who you are.

Have there been any talks about cuts to EDT since we're technically part of KTG now? A smart plant 3d admin was just let go Friday, I'm just hoping that more cuts aren't on the way.

This KTG is a bunch of loafers that should have been outsourced to Wipro or IBM long time ago

KTG can start workforce reduction with CIO, his brother and first layer of executives close to his "body". So-called "KTG Architects" are bunch of ignorant incompetent old timers or newcomers who are irrelevant and run sideline businesses in their spare time . If they all go it will have zero impact to the KTG. Easily 80% of Kiewit KTG management can go. All these useless "management" people from Conagra and West Corporation can be fired right away with great benefit to the organization.

Looks like my OP post is real. Had meeting with team where essentially KTG hasn’t been meeting its key metrics that they’ve been saying they would accomplish the last while. As a result, it looks like KTG is currently implementing heavy data driven methods to gather information and see where inefficiencies and other weak points exist throughout the division. They will use this data to see where they can cut overhead in light of weak performers or unecessary teams/groups who aren’t essential going forward beyond the other areas they have already done to date.

With that said, I recommend current KTG staff to not be complacent. If you feel you won’t be cut and are essential, definitely keep busy and work hard. I feel bad for recent new hires as they will likely be under the radar to see if they are really necessary for the short term.

Best of luck. Hopefully viewers find this insightful.
