Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Is a total reset in the works for Schenectady?

Schumer urges GE to make wind turbines in Capital Region
Albany Times Union Paper
How can GE turn down fed tax credit if they make green turbines here. With all the rubles of layoffs that started last year I think it’s about to happen and how deep will the job cuts be? Does anyone really know?

If a man or woman has worked for the company longer, yes, seniority should be factored in. Not my fault I was hired before you. You had every opportunity to get a higher code while working at the company. Sometimes that works to the lower service advantage. Stop your whining low service and get back to work.

You guy ever seen Pensacola? They have all the turbines on a moving line and every action is timed up on a giant board. So no the union will not get getting Nacelles anytime soon.

You must be a t rate upset about being late to the GE game. Now you wish the seniority list to be ripped up. So you wish don’t have to return to your old position making $12.

No, I have no interest as a GE investor in making green turbines in Schenectady. The union contract there lacks the flexibility to be competitive on a global basis. Start with tearing up the seniority clause and have it only count for scheduling vacations. All promotions are most qualified. Layoff's, retain the most qualified not most senior, then maybe we can chat about green turbines
