January layoffs

Somebody mentioned there might be another round of layoffs in January, has there been any news on that?

You can bet your gelsprinter there'll be more furloughs than layoffs.

Just thinking here but aren't furloughs cheaper for Ricoh. Layoffs mean severance, but furloughs don't cost anything. They push their payroll onto the tax payer thru unemployment benefits. If the federal benefit get renewed then many people get paid close to the same or even more pay to take a week off than if they work.

Absolutely got to increase lay offs to free up cash for game changing product like...(yawn) 360 cameras. “The industry changed so much last year” - Imagine. Change? Nope!

The industry has changed so much last year. With the decrease of people/employees actually being in an office will mean that companies no longer require the devices. I see companies down-sizing their office spaces this year. Due to the conditions listed above, I do see further down-sizing unfortunately. All I hope, but do not expect, is that the companies treat their employees with respect when further furloughing or laying off happens.

I certainly hope not.....9 weeks furlough last year was so hard and still trying to recover.

Preferably good news that it was just a rumor that turned out not to be true?
