Never heard of a schedule coordinator. Maybe they mean someone from the staffing team.

Again, if you are an affiliated store, things are different for you. So no, I’m not drinking any kool aid. But glad it was resolved for you.

"If you are option one and not scheduled 35-40 hrs. Go to your manager and tell them you will file under employment with your state. Problem solved."

SMH. Option 1 is long, long, long in the past. There's no such thing as even being "grandfathered" anymore. And no, going to your manager and saying what you suggest will not solve or change one thing. They aren't personally responsible! It isn't a great situation, no doubt about it, but it is what it is.

Wondering if your store "was saved" after the latest rounds of closures, will positions be cut in Februrary?

Well your managers don’t make the schedules, so it’s not like they can give you a shift. Know your state’s laws, if any on being guaranteed 40 hours. Most people don’t realize there’s no national laws saying we are entitled to weekends and or two days a week off. Or vacations—no laws saying that e must be provided vacation days. So check your state laws and or union contracts if your store is affiliated. Then if you find something, speak to manager and ask them to inquire.

There is no mention anywhere about “grandfathered” colleagues. The only verbiage that may relate to that is:
“Affiliated locations have specific Work Schedule Options to meet contractual agreements.”

Good question on the grandfathered in I don’t recall reading or hearing about this but will go back through the info again. But I don’t think that’s the case anymore due to Covid. Business isn’t what it used to be.

My department is giving 34 ish to our full timers. However, since we're busy I'm often permitted to extend the 6 hour shifts if I ask.

What about employees that were "grandfathered in" as they used to say? The thinking was that if this was the case you were guaranteed your 38-40 hours.

The below information was communicated in Sept 2020 so it’s really nothing new. Sadly, it may not have been directly communicated to colleagues. Which is nothing unusual for Macy’s. I feel they need to make this type of information in the messages section via Insite to avoid the speculation and “conspiracy theories” that are circulated.
*

“There are two main components which drive how the schedules are created and how our colleagues are scheduled assigned shifts. 1. BUDGET 2. Colleague availability “

“Hours ranges listed on work schedule options DO NOT reflect the hours that can be scheduled.”

“Minimum hours listed on work schedule options are NOT GUARANTEED.”

Information goes on to say both FT and PT can be scheduled up to 4 “nights” each week and up to 40 hours.

Also, those FT option 1 or 2 type thing is no more—hasn’t been in a long while.

I am an MBA and this information is factual, not my opinion. Hope this helps clarify some of the questions about schedules and seasonals getting your jobs.

Fulltime base hours are 28 -40
Now that holiday season is over, most will go back to minimum hours

Same thing here, but I was added a shift for next week, so I'm back to 5 days a week, but only 35hrs
