How are the managers managed?

I've seen too many managers run around like no one is watching.

It seems like the managers have free reign at Baker Hughes. Who holds them accountable? How are they held accountable?

Years ago, maybe 10 or so, employees were surveyed on their views of the company and department direction. Questions about their career path, options, empowerment etc. essentially you were allowed to rate the management group.

Nothing like that now. Employees barely even know their expectations foe the year, no clue what the requirements foe career progression even is, etc. oh, but managers aren’t to blame, it’s actually HR that purposefully creates the confusion

Where are the pay grades, the job titles, bands, and let’s make sense out of them.

Baker Hughes is the least customer centric company I have ever worked for in my 40 year career hands down. If I was not so close to retirement I would be looking for another job.

They're not held accountable. There is a little known secret that all surviving managers have embraced. Never say anything publicly unless you're defending a higher up even if you don't know what the heck is going on. Manager is never accountable for under performance, all that is needed is a unified front against the PM's, Account Managers, Sales, and yes even the customer. What does the customer know. Shut up customer, we'll tell you when your getting your stuff. Your schedule doesn't meet our needs.. Even Mfg executives jump on this band wagon. And then your left with managers who defend other week managers so there's no threat of being over ran. SPB's and EX's alike have done nothing but gotten rid of the All Star employees. Out with the old in the with the new. Why are the execs so freakin old then. They could have grand parented the frontline leadership.
