Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Any rumors at Emmott Rd?

I heard there may be layoffs coming in January but was wondering if that’s still true. How’s it going there?

Your little plant will eventually be absorbed else where.

I also heard from the Account Manager of Allied Universal Security that her officers were instructed to stand by.

Agreed. I see equipment manufacturing being outsourced. Its what manufacturing did in the 90's to survive.

Downstream picking up but not sufficient to prop up the organization as a whole. Let’s not kid ourselves

Emmott has been underperforming for a while. Cannot expect to maintain when the business didn't capitalize while having healthy backlog. Same was true for the rest of OFE, which had 7% on time delivery with tons of bookings. Cannot retain clients or attempt up sale when you don't deliver on your first promise. Every business has to put the right foot forward to succeed.
There are many questions that need to be answered. First one being the obvious.

Considering the business needs to cut 50% to stay up while acquiring more downstream, I would think any roof that is part of OFE or upstream services can bank on more reductions.
