Thread regarding West Corp. layoffs

Clienttell, PhoneTree, Callpointe and now

Yet another patient engagement system purchased. No one mismanages quite like Intrado. You have two logical assumptions here.

  1. You have no idea what you are buying and how to stay relevant.
  2. You are not listening to those close to the work that knows what you need to succeed.

"the legacy platforms are dinosaurs. They haven’t been updated in yrs."...

Each was okay when purchased, but the company purged the teams and refused to allow any updates to the platforms. Then, blame was cast to the remaining team members when new quotas or goals were not met.

So, again, we're buying another platform and start selling features without fully vetting it. They haven't even bothered to discuss concerns with the engineers to determine what is practical.

At least it's one way to get customers. Neglect the customers we have, actively refuse new sales... just buy another company that has some customers we can mooch off of until they also leave us for being neglected.

Thinks it’s a great idea to purchase a product that interfaces with ALL the large EMRs via API/FHIR. That’s exactly what people ask for, immediately sets us apart from most comp, and the legacy platforms are dinosaurs. They haven’t been updated in yrs. If you don’t agree with Vision the healthcare market has so many Opps. I’ve had 3-5 people go somewhere else, then get let go within 3 months bc bought by PE. Not saying it’s fun to
Deal with or painless but, it happens.

But the problem remains - limited staff due to layoffs prevent the existing and newly purchased customers from acquisition from receiving quality or even sub standard service.

You can buy all you want, but unless you are focused on delivering customer service, your clients are leaving, as they have with the last few platforms.

West/Intrado has always tried to aquire innovation since they don't believe in attempting to invest in innovation themselves and have little to no faith in their workforce. Unfortunately the same policies that stifle and hinder innovation in the company are the same policies that slowly starve and k–l off anything they aquire. They can't aquire themselves out of stagnation.

or 4.) after the purchased West, they realized the existing healthcare notification platforms were absolute garbage so they needed something to move the customer base to.

  • or 3.) they are buying cheaper, similar offerings to solidify Intrado's position in the market
