Does Boeing ever lay off Managers? All I hear about is a manager position will be eliminated or go unfilled but the manager holding that position is placed in a newly named manager's position. So the net change is zero. I have yet to ever hear of any managers being layed off though,

Boeing managers are experts at playing politics. That’s how they got to be a manager. That’s why it’s next to impossible to lay them off.
The delivery centers have a few that should've been let go long ago.
It’s like when they asked a group of doctors who should get the Covid vaccine first? Naturally they said they should get it first even though 85% of the people who die or 75 years of age or older.
So when they got the group of managers together to decide who should we keep it who should we lay off, naturally they said you should keep all the managers and layoff the worker bees.
Managers at Boeing do get laid off (or rarely) fired when they have a history of violating a major rule and have gotten suspended (for 5 days or more) as a result of that infraction and an HR/corporate investigation determined they were responsible. This is about to happen in Flight Sciences to a couple of managers (1st & 2nd level). Otherwise, in lighter cases, they may be demoted into the working ranks, or get moved to a different location or demoted into lower-level management, or become a manager with few/no people reporting to them. In times like these, the individual-contributor/managers tend to be the first ones to get axed when the company starts laying off managers. That being said, these managers usually don't get affected until all their direct report rank and file people (those the company needed to offload) are gone - that happens in the very last round of a major layoff.
In the business unit i worked for @ Boeing there way maybe 1 or 2 managers that ever got laid off there. It's usually the Boeing "shell game" where they move a manager to another business unit so then the business unit they came from shows that as a net loss. It's rare for a manager to get laid off.
i know of some managers that have been laid off in the past layoffs. I haven't heard of any thus far. What's the rumor?
Laying off a Boeing manager will cause a ripple through space time and the universe will collapse on itself.
offer VLO or fire at will, if you take latter you loose everything you built and saved.
SOOOO what would you do?
