I don’t know about you but when I read that email this morning about the combination of OptumInsight and Change Healthcare I immediately muttered “Layoffs are coming.”
It doesn’t take a high IQ to realize that terms like efficiency improvements combined with Optum’s track record of laying off after acquisitions to know that some trouble is coming down the pike. Likely won’t see layoffs for this reason until late 2021 it sounds like.
Making money and profiteering off of sick people was great. It was america
One less place to go for Optum employees looking for something new. Lots of other options though, don't give up!
Whoever is highly paid at optuminsight needs to start looking for the signs they are headed out the door within the next year. Same for our friends at Change.
Yes, likely. The corporate propaganda linguistics, "efficiency improvements...." are code for layoffs and more profits for the 1%
