Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

Wow

Must be nice being in management and having unlimited vacation and telling your hourly workers they must save vacation days for the yearly shut down and not have the option to take it unpaid and if you use it up before the shutdown you will face disciplinary action.

There are lot of trade offs between being salary and hourly. Would you trade your pensions for 401k . Or how about your overtime pay for unpaid overtime. How about set breaks and lunch for working lunches and no breaks. Grass is always greener on the other side. We need to work together to keep our jobs.

The things folks complain about. If you didn't lose your job like I didn't than you should be thankful for the moment. Some people got permanent unpaid vacation days. Who's to say we wouldn't be next....Jeeeeez!

What makes it worse In the era of Covid you may have to take 1-2 weeks off if you come in contact with someone with Covid or get sick. Upper management has lost the plot. This week has s—ed waiting for announcements regarding layoff announcement.
