Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Is there anyone in my situation?

Let me start off by saying I have a little over a year to early retirement (thanks to financial investments). A part of me is itching to get out now especially since BH is no longer what I remembered it to be and all of the core values I admired long ago are now gone. Financially I am able to take the plunge, but I hate to miss out on a years’ worth of wages. Anyone here made the jump and hasn’t regretted it?

I left in September 2020 at the age of 58. After 38 years I was miserable and tired of being passed over by inexperienced, lazy millennials. I’ve saved since I was 19 for retirement. I don’t regret leaving not one bit!!
Do it. Life is too short to be unhappy.

I retired one year early a few years back. I also had saved for retirement. Absolutely no regrets at all. Don’t stay where you are miserable.

I did it 2 years ago after GE deepened their footprint. The meaning of integrity and values period quickly changed. Almost 4 decades. Miss the good people, but do not miss what the company became at all.

After 42 years, Baker sent me packing in April 2020. Was not quite ready, but not far off. Still has been a relief not having to go into the rumor mill. Best thing that could have happened.

I did it with no regrets. I am soooo much happier now. If you have the resources (like I did) than do it

Go for it. I’m 41 and was pushed off the boat and I’m fine. Took 200lbs off my shoulders. Always feeling like the axe is coming isn’t healthy. Life continues post Baker. It’s been good so far and we’re still in the pandemic.

Baker has been toxic way before the pandemic. Can’t deny it.

Go for it. It may even save a headcount.
