Thread regarding Optum layoffs

It was exhilarating

Over a week ago I posted that I had a problem and considered taking it to HR. Many advised against it and instead to bite the bullet until I could find a replacement. Well, I got lucky and I found a replacement which starts in a few weeks. So I thought it over and decided to give notice ASAP and take those weeks to relax and decompress from all the c-ap my manager has put me through. My manager “insisted” I give him 2 weeks because of a project we were currently working on. Told me how “unprofessional” I am to leave him in the lurch. Let's just say I had some choice words for him right before I walked out the door. God it felt so good. Thanks for the advice everyone. I wish you the best in whatever you do with this company.

We all worked so hard there, day and night, came in early, left late without pay, believed in the corporate mission statements, goals, and believed. Got paper certificates with bravos, and all the US propaganda feces, then 1 day, on a friday told there's a meeting. we listened on the telephone, and they said, we're gonzo. Just 4 weeks "severance" some didn't get "severance" –now no health care, no means to support oneself except listening to empty capitalistic platitudes from the shyster in the us corporation ("country). a vile and disgusting place, whereby greed, hustling, huckstering where the ways of "life" –used and abused. sold your time so the capitalistic owners could buy another yacht, time, you'll NEVER get back.

Congrats on escaping. It was a horrible place. Your manager was a company man/woman-simp. They were owned, and perhaps, knew. the us game was played this way. Tax and debt slaves all whom owed their soul to the us company store.

Yes Sarcasm. I wish I could leave a boat load of work to my Boss but he is smart and already got a group of people shadow my work. Seriously perhaps the worst company I ever work for. What is happening now is they are making me hate the company so much that when.....not if...when I get laid off I would feel like thanking them.

What a company of mean executives.

You just burned your bridge. You never be able to work at a fine organization like Optum. And that also includes the parent organization United Healthcare. Another fine organization.

I even have a bumper sticker that says I LOVE OPTUM.

Could there be any senior leadership greater than OPTUM. i do not think so. I am so blessed to be here.

You should have worked the two weeks and worked at least 16 hours a day. Now all that extra work will have to be done by your Boss who treated you like his son.
