Thread regarding West Corp. layoffs

Was there more transparency before?

Is it just me or has West never been less transparent?
Back in a day, we more or less knew what was happening but now the fact that it is impossible to even guess what is really happening adds to the stress.
Instead of relaxing for the holidays, I am stressing about when I will be told to pack my things and leave. Terrible.
If only they were more transparent, somehow it would be mentally easier to get through this difficult period for all of us.

Looks like Apollo may be doing this just to get on this list.

My position was replaced with a "newly created role"
The only person on my team that was retained had to get a "newly created role"

"Apollo also made key hires in newly created roles designed to continue to strengthen culture, diversity & inclusion, retention and citizenship at the Firm"

The original Intrado (911 business) was acquired by the original West but the (911) founders stayed on for several years after that. Once the founders left, everything changed. Employees no longer mattered. Benefits and amenities were cut and eliminated. Employees who became managers were "drivers" rather than "leaders" and over time, an entire C-level layer was fleshed out, seemingly focused on their bonuses. It's just Corporate America now, folks, existing to serve investors primarily.
