Best way to upskill to renewables if you are an reservoir engineer, drilling engineer or geologist?

So negative people, Bitcoin mining is a potential future. Why would you retrain and stay at BP? Will cut you loose first bad quarter, or next.
It is recommended that the existing workforce retrain themselves in the field of Dental Hygiene. BP personnel certainly need to learn how to break their aversion to brushing their teeth and using mouthwash.
Too many negative comments. Suggest you start looking for roles outside bp where renewable technologies have been developed (i.e. Simens or Ostead). You can always return to bp later. Look at the two "crown jewels" from Uber and Tesla which the CEO have hired to spear the future. None have actually gone through the bp career path.
Start your own Amway business selling toothpaste and dental care products. Even though the market for these products is weak in the UK, a real go-getter could make the same high salary and benefits package comparable to a VP of a snow cone stand.
Start your own Condom Supply business restocking bars, restaurants and restrooms across the country. Who knows, as you may later diversify into urinal screens and sanitary napkins at sports venues.
Bag groceries or work at Valero Gas Station convenience stores as the night cashier. The skills learned would be an upgrade.
bp is partnering with companies that already have their foot in the ground in renewables. If you want to upskill then go back to school and get your Masters Degree in renewables. I know several engineers who took EOI and plan to do that. Despite what they say, little chance they will invest the money to convert a drilling engineer into a renewables engineer unless you have some of the basic skills already like a mechanical, electrical or controls engineering degree which is most transferrable to renewables. Easier to lay you off and hire somebody else.
Don’t bother. Bp will just contact those skills in. It’s the GPO model pal.
