Thread regarding Dril-Quip Inc. layoffs

Are you managing to find jobs in the industry?

Can’t wait to see what future the whole oil industry will bring in the near future. Especially 2021, no where going to be flat out with work. Hold on to what you have for the next year to 18 months till the industry stabilizes. Too many people are still out of work, and it is still evident that trying to find a job outwith the oil industry is extremely difficult.

I’ve been out of work for a few months now and I’m getting pretty desperate. I hope it gets better.

Yeah its pretty grim out there. I was lucky that a job opened up at my previous work at the end of november. Its demoralising looking on job websites and seeing no new jobs. Was even applying down south from september and never heard back from anything. Shows you how much people are looking for little roles.

The hard reality is if there are jobs going itll probably be from working contacts you already have in companies.

Hope you find something soon

Plexus ocean systems are looking for a materials handler if anyone’s interested.

They are next to Baker Hughes, behind DQ in Dyce
