Awards and bonuses

Are awards and bonuses indicative of keeping your job? I keep getting them somewhat randomly but truly feel my job is being digitized and will be eliminated eventually and I have been applying elsewhere. Any insight?

Who wants a lousy bonus? Taxed at ~50% and it's one off. And usually miniscule. Why not give the employees ownership? stocks in the company, a cooperative work system so the employees have ownership and a say in the company

Last year, I got my RRP bonus discussion and my layoff in the same meeting. It was a very surreal.

Who's getting bonuses?? We got told it was a "bad" economy. We got a gift card for 25 bucks to a big box chain selling cheap junk, and a generic card....nice. Corporate american greed

Its a possibility that they had Bravo money available that needed to be used up by the end of this month, and decided to give you some of that remaining funds based on your work, from the current year.

It is common to give bonuses via Bravo instead of RRP. Departments do things differently but it comes out of the same overall bonus budget. A lot of department leaders will do their best to manage the funds for their teams while adhering to whatever new changes / rules leadership is giving on how to allocate. One thing HR and senior leadership do not do is make things straightforward. Good luck

I’m feeling the same way. Last week, I received my yearly bonus via a Bravo award, which I found a bit odd. Has anyone else received their yearly bonus this way and this early?

My observation is “digital transformation” has been nothing more than a buzzword to layoff as many workers as possible and do things the cheap and lousy way so you’re probably half right.

If you can make yourself part of that digital process that’s great and go for it and maybe a new career will come of it.

If you can’t, you’re probably half right and your job could be eliminated so start looking at options.

A manger I worked with at large funds company was worried the new tech would replace her whole team. She was right and landed a new position before a massive layoff and her teams jobs were offshored before the new tech even went live.
