Thread regarding TransCanada Corp. layoffs

How much have are we losing because of nepotism?

The reality is that there are people who currently work here, do not have the required skill (s). The “It’s not what you know it’s who you know” process is affecting the overall performance of the company. HR hiring processes are very poor. Hiring managers have a total freedom and can hire their close buddies or friends who have no skill whatsoever. .... Some food for thought ...

(Originally posted in @5jik+18woOaB4 ) I’m just wondering how many quality people dropped out because they didn’t go through their hiring process and how far will we get with such nepotism? It’s so frustrating because we cannot do anything about it.

While some people were released in one way or another, others kicked out a while back ...returned as ADVISORS...seriously?!?!?!?! Do we need ADVISORS who have a hard time speaking and writing English..."QUALITY" work, huh - Come on!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone should investigate who hires them, who recommends them, and so on.

LOL, Step aside son and watch CNN alittle longer. Hard work isn't rewarded, it's taken for granted.

Not sure if the last post was sarcasm or not but any corporation where brown nosing and career climbing is rewarded at the top of the meritocracy over hard work and getting things done is unhealthy and dysfunctional.

Anyone that is so pathetic to come on here and write an ignorant and rude comment like yours will be figured out eventually, you may not be fired, you might even flourish, but your peers will hate your guts (if they don't already)!

To the poster of this thread.... let's really get to the bottom of this. You sound like you been taken for granted? Let me guess, you try and try to do your best, you sacrifice your life for your company, and yet can't move up? The person in the cubicle next to you got the promotion because he golfs or goes on trips with the manager? Are you really that naive? This is how business gets done, if you were in a management position you would surround yourself with people who you trust, not the guy that sounds like you...oooo poor baby. Grow up, find your place in the corporate pecking order (which sounds like the bottom..lol) and be happy for your paycheck. Keep sacrificing your life, family and your dignity and just watch as I go up the ladder. I'll try not to step on your hands...LOL

OMG, sounds like a pathetic loser who is jealous. If you had a shred of skills then you would move on to another company instead of complaining on here. let me guess, you pour your heart into your work and get nothing in return? Welcome to adult world. DBag.

We’re losing basically nothing because our Canada gas sector is regulated and we make money no matter what we do. Spend $200M over on a 50KM job, oh well. Customers get the shaft.

In the US and Mexico we have our pencils a little sharper but I see some of the people who many feel are some of the dumbest, yet well connected people in the company heading up some areas of Keystone and other projects in the US. Same with some of the crew on Coastal. Really?
