Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Products and services are “too narrow”?

Someone wrote on here that Allscript’s products and services are narrow and as such cannot offer a diverse employee growth path, and that therefore the company is not competitive to a broadly-diversified enterprises.

Hope you don't mind, but it particularly interested me because I heard it from some other people, too, so I decided to open a new thread.
I can't say I agree with it, but I am interested in the opinions of those who advocate further diversification?

Allscripts is viewed as and EMR company even though they have non-EMR business units. Their flagship acute EMR (Sunrise from Allscripts) has not had a net new logos in 2 years and has lost almost all their large clients to Epic.
Their flagship Ambulatory EMR (Touchworks) has only a small handfull of new in the past 2 years and has lost a number of customers to Epic and Meditech.
Their smaller ambulatory EMR (PRO) does okay, but the $$$ value of new deals are small.
So, given all that, you should be able to get your answers.
