Here are the average (+/- 5% deviation might exist) salaries by Band:-
4 & 5's = $50K
6 & 7'S = 60-80K
8's= 100-120K
9's = 140K
10'S = 150-170K
D's = 220 - 250K Base + 30K stock vesting in 2-3 yrs
C's = 280-310K Base + 40K stock vesting in 2-3 yrs
B's= 350-450K + 60K stock vesting in 2-3 yrs
A's = 750K + 80K stock + 100K in preferred shares
AA's = F u money - go flip your burgers!

Band 10s don't always make over 200K on the base alone. People with quotas have a high-end base of 150-170 (aka reference salary) and makeup the difference if they make quota. The first comment is incorrect.
that is so off, band 10s make over 200k in any location , if you are a band10 under 200k have a talk with your manager

Band 8 in sales and made $160k salary (plus commission)..just left in November because you couldn’t pay me double to keep working for IBM
From all the comments it looks like everyone makes more than the salaries posted - so why are people complaining about ibm this ibm that ?!
U people make more than 90% of the country , so IBM is not that bad as everyone claims it to be!
I was a band 3 making a salary between a band 7 and band 8 to this chart go figure
Band 03 pays more than band 05 in certain markets so bands mean nothing.

Band 7 Financial Analyst here making $68K - Very depressing.
There is significant overlap in band salaries. I have had Band 8’s with a higher base than Band 9. Additionally with most acquisitions (Not RH) we absorb acquired employees into our organization and quite frequently they have higher salaries than existing IBM people. This is particularly true if the employee has been with IBM for some time and have not been aggressive in seeking above market/out of cycle raises. So often acquired employed come in at a higher band so we can maintain their salary.

How about research lab techs, FAB techs, engineering techs, facilities techs and so on.

I beg to differ but it’s a failure of a CEO and “Board” that reward her for failure (and those CEOs before her that also absconded with big payouts) - not some lowly personnel that make $100k.
A Band 5 making 100K as a Secretary is why IBM is where it is now - in the toilet!

The range for each band is massive and there’s significant overlap between bands. This list is way off and only has a very simple view. Also doesn’t take location into account.
Band 9, US... I make 165K and I am 20K away from 100% PMR... So I do think your numbers are way off!

I remember briefly seeing a wage range per band, it had the minimum and maximum wages. Does anyone have this info for software engineers?
Band 7 with masters start at 110K for software engineering. Non premium location. I was told by the offering manager that San Jose and NYC were higher.
I dont believe this salary range applies to Premium job markets such as California Bay Area of New York City, which may be slightly higher.
Is this reference salary or base? sales are paid differently. Base is like 82% of reference and you add commission.
What qualifications do the D and above folks usually have?
Seems to me, a lot of board folks went the "Harvard MBA -> McKinsey Consulting -> Board Member" route and never were worker bees in the conventional sense.
