To the last 2 comments, yes I'm guessing if your store isn't on this list, that it's good odds that it'll hang on past 2023. There's also the store disposition list pdf, which also mentions other stores the company wants to dump besides the 400 mentioned here(including Kemmerer, WY): http://www.jcpenneyportfolio.com/uploads/1/3/2/3/132304625/jcpenney_-_phase_i-surplus_stores_for_sale.pdf

@4iic+18Dcqh1F So what about the 150-200 stores that aren’t on this list but are still open. Are they closing eventually or staying open as well?

Welp. This is the list of 400 under “consideration”. There’s about 200-250 safe or “untouchable” Simon/Brookfield locations.

I’ve heard the company will pick 150 of these 400 to close and lease the rest.

So if you’re store is on this list...I’d say it’s about 50-50 you last past 2023. 😐

It usually does list if a location is under consideration to close. However, for some reason JCP didn't do that and wasn't required to by the judge.

The docket should say whether the stores are going forward or not. Normally in bankruptcy dockets they list the stores that are under consideration for closure either now or in the future.

My store isn't on the docket? That a good sign at this point? My store could be one of the last to close?
