Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

It's been just over 2 months since this latest layoff, how is everyone doing?

I've tried staying in touch with a few of my friends at RJ as well as a few I knew that were let go on 9/15 when I was let go. Some are having it tougher than others, especially those that are under 60, have kids and bills. Most everyone I know is in Florida. I was able to get a whopping $275 a week for 12 weeks of Florida unemployment. Not going far but it helps. Severance is helping a bit but we have had to cut back on so many things. Have applied for a number of jobs but nothing is happening. Businesses are wary of doing anything at the moment.

I'm one of the fortunate ones - I was able to find another job after 20+ years at RJ. But I have to admit, its not easy....

Don't give up!

I also have to admit that I enjoyed my job at RJ and after these couple of months there are days when I still miss it. It's not easy to forget almost 2 decades.

I am still looking for a job and feel a little bit worried. To be honest I liked my job at RJ and there are nights when I wish I could still have my job. Hope that better times will come. That's how I am doing.

Today is somehow a kind of different TG day, I still don't have a job, don't have family here in Florida and I am one of those who decided not to travel forsafty reasons to see family.

To my ex-RJ family here, Happy Thanksgiving!
