Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Walked out

I had planned to give notice after my shift was completed but instead my project manager p-ss-d me off badly. I thought screw it and just turned around and walked out. The funny thing is that with every step that took me closer to the door I felt a weight gradually lift from my shoulders and I found myself smiling before I was out the door. No regrets.

What the US corporation can do is say for the black and, or old >50 folks is that they're were no longer needed, the project wrapped up, bad economy, etc.etc.etc. as a us person, you have VERY few if any real employment rights unlike almost every other country. The american companies god is profit. period. Nothing else mattered. they do NOT care abt you. period.

You’re saying this company does not discriminate based upon age and race? Not true. My former team had a total of 4 positions eliminated. Only the oldest and those that were black were let go. Top performers too. 2 old and 2 black. Now the team does not have any black team members or anyone in their 50s.

Good pt. your us boss, can scream at you, call you dumb, yell, abusive statements, as long as they dont cross the legal line with race, religion, s-x/gender, origin,. in the us empire, employees have very few if any real labor-employment rights. Vile and sick empire

Just a note that you need to be harassed for things protected under law. Like your s-xual orientation, race, religion, disability, etc. The fact the boss thinks you are an id–t is not harassment. Or makes you do the same project several times over. That person must violate company policy. A boss that is mean does not count towards anything.

No lawyer is going to take this case for a c-appy boss. Being a mean boss is a common theme in business. Even if he curses at you. But if he made a crude s-xual joke at you or about someone else, then you got him.

Yes, he can berate you. He can be a prick. He can make you work long hours. But that is not enough. It only takes one mistake by the boss. That will make is very difficult for HR. HR does not like problems since that creates more paperwork.

It you're getting harassed. Document, record, and see a lawyer. NO ONE deserves to be harassed in the dump us empire.

definition of buck dancing. I think you will understand the context.

A type of folksy tap or soft-shoe dance common in the southern US states during the slave era. Performers incorporated buck dancing into "cooning" shows, where a black person (or white person in blackface) would dance and sing for a white audience's enjoyment.

Just to let you know that making you walk out is in the best interest of the company. They hope you leave so you cannot get any package or unemployment. All designed and no layoffs needed since you leave on your own.

What is "buck dancing" and what has it got to do with work? I tried Google, that didn't really help.

A few years ago, we had 2 people just walked out .They had enough of the false and empty promises and the work on top of work with junky pay. All the office sheep just looked at them with disgust and surprise, however, a week later got the bleep out and you do what you got to do. life is to short for bs and playing games with bosses and execs and other clowns. Hamster wheeling for whom? profits that are never satisified. And yah, the buck dancing –so many brown nosers doing the corporate mumbo with that useless face diaper

Play the game, keep your head down, use "HR" ladies to "help" you, etc..eat feces and smile?!

Sometimes you gotta leave and walk the bleep out. Period. Buck dancing and yes sir/yes maam was joke.
Many of these places are toxic environments/harassment run by corporate psychopaths/sociopaths who's only goal is for power, status, greed, and money.

It doesn't matter what their s-x is, their skin color, etc..all the same. Power, status, greed, and money. They all want the same thing because they're indoctrinated in the corporate buck dancing system

Its okay to leave with your head held high and do what is right for you. One of my coworkers did the same thing. Walked out. She was new and was clearly thrown into her job without sufficient training from what I had observed. The supervisor then made a couple of her subordinates monitor the woman's work quality. It was basically harassment in plain sight and they would gossip to the rest of us about the woman. Very toxic working environment. Sometimes you have to walk and don't look back.

Dumb move. You better off going to HR and file a employee harassment claim and you get some type of settlement. Now you do not qualify for unemployment and for employment purposes you are considered leave without give 2 weeks notice.
enemy
I went to HR. And yeap, I got kicked out. But they had to pay me good. Got another job and was receiving two checks every two weeks. HR is always your enemy but your friend when it comes to harassment claims. That is why they settle with you since the legal paperwork and issues are a big headache.

Yeap...pretty mean folks here. Just waiting for them to make a mistake by saying or doing something stupid.

Make sure you have emails to document everything.

Play the game and play to win. And if you do plan to walk out, have another job already.

Now your manager is happy. He does not have to do any paperwork.
