Is there anyone who still comes into work determined to give it their 100%? Considering the company’s treatment of their employees, would it really be surprising to know that many are giving up and not even trying? Especially knowing that “cost cutting” measure are always in the future?

Everybody knows what you are saying, including the “don’t be sour grapes man, you get 100% of your paycheck” people. Somehow you show up everyday, you still get stuff done and go through the motions, but maybe just not as enthusiastic as you would like, a little slower than you would like, not as engaged as you once were. You don’t want to be that way, you wish it was different, but every few years you get reminded how little you are valued and how replaceable your are by the company. Some are luckier and have a manager and team they mesh with that makes it a little better, some not so lucky. Good managers that care are a dying breed. Loyalty is not valued. “Just leave man”, so easy to say for the un-loyal. And not everyone wants to race to the top, some just want to come in and feel good about giving their 100% for their paycheck.
Nothing wrong with either view. Just leave when you can and take a chance elsewhere. Or stick it out for that eventual severance. Just always have a plan, always have a cushion.
This company seems to treat severance payments, replacement recruiting, replacement relocating and replacement training costs as if it was All free. Wouldn’t it be better for shareholders if they just managed the headcount the existing already located, Already trained and loyal workers? Pretty wasteful in my mind. HR people are not smart here!
It’s irritating and demoralizing that time after time we overcome mo–nic policies fighting to remain successful only to have some new policy come down the pipe that completely upends any gains we have made. This has happened so many times that it appears to be purposeful. Like they’re trying to thin out our division so they don’t have can dole out less in severance. There’s less than a third of us left. The majority of us have new jobs waiting, we’re all just holding out for that package. Why leave it on the table?
Fact: getting paid to do the work.
Fact: no evidence provided otherwise.
Thank you
No need to be mad at anyone; be mad at the facts.

What are talking like Cummins owes anyone anything. Work for paycheque. You work you get paid. Who is not getting paid? And those who are not happy then leave? Why poison it for everyone? What's the gain for that? Instant satisfaction to get even? Lol weak move... Weak move
Have seen many employees over a few decades become very disgruntled over time. Some condemn them for it and state that is just giving the company a reason to let them go. Just like the comments you see in this thread. Yes, people are tired of the company and their management lying to them over and over again. Nothing wrong with sour grapes in this instance. What you have to do is realize that Cummins culture is to lie. For that reason you have to determine if you want to continue being a part of that culture or do you want to move on to companies that truly care about their people. Cummins has proven over and over again that they do not care about their employees. They only care about their shareholders.
Proved my point. The dislikes for the previous post are just from disgruntled employees and a jealous boyfriend that never got closure from a previous break up.
Having the attitude is what gets you cut in the first place. Don't be sour grapes
Thousands before you, during you, after you gave and will give their all. Have been cut thru not fault of their own. You’ll soon join that line.
A bit of a self fulfilling prophecy if you come in planning to do a half a– job and then complain once you've been let go. I think your work performance is reflective of your character not your employer. If you're unhappy you should be looking elsewhere. I understand the constant worry about cuts and it can feel defeating, but as long as I have a job to do I fully intend to do it.
I do. After all, I still accept 100% of my pay. I trust that if you are not giving 100%, you email your payroll department every two weeks to provide them with the % that should be applied to your pay?
