Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Hi do you have leadership and communication skills?

You want to let people and upper managers hear your voice.
you want to make yourself visible.
do you have a MBA degree?
do you have leadership and communication skills?
if no, you will be the next one to be let go.

Having an MBA doesn't mean $hit. Management and leadership skills are not taught nor acquired in any college in the U.S. currently or in the next 100 years. Halliburton does NOT want leaders, they want one eyed goons that will do as they are told.

"Hi do you have leadership and communication skills?"

If so, there is NO point in applying for a job, and should YOU already be employed, once 'management' becomes aware of you having these skills, YOUR days are numbered.

Anyhow, WHY would a potential employee for pressure pumping need ANY 'skills' other than how to manipulate a sledge, and learn, after months of training, that it is "Lefty Loosey, and Righty Tighty"?

I am not sure where you are coming from, but in my experience, many managers don't want to hear anyone's voice unless it is echoing their opinions. Making yourself visible is a quick way to get to the top of the next to be fired list. Having an MBA degree does necessarily make you more valuable or a better leader. Communication skills are important, but only if the other party has the ability to listen and adjust their position accordingly. I have seen many people get fired by by manager's who didn't understand what that person did or why their work experience was valuable to the team. Nothing on your list of good attributes is wrong, but there are many more qualities that a good management/leader should evaluate than these when making personnel choices. I can assure you that does not happen more often that not.

Probably overreaching. Even Walmart greeters require some communication skills.

Pretty sure thats how you distinguish between minimum wage and everyone else. Go work for Walmart if you don't like it!
