Right now Kroger is negotiating an new contract with the union. No increase in pay for anyone not at top pay. Top paid clerks will get 25 cent raise for 3 years. Might give a bonus check/gift card one year of the contract instead of raise. Clerk's health benefits cost triple with reduced coverage. Number of hours to get benefits go from 20 to 29. Benefits hours are on worked hours only. Examples...
Take time off to be with a new baby. No benefits the next month.
Take two weeks vacation in the same month. No benefits.
Take loa.. no benefits.
Want to stay anyway. Can work hard get promoted to assistant manager or store manager. Always have the possibility to get laid off.
