Rumor was the bonus was an advance on future back pay from contract. Give us a thousand now and don’t get anything when the new contract gets shoved down our throat.

Any time you complain about taxes eating up all your bonus (or overtime pay), you sound stupid. That’s not how the tax system works.
They paid it. On the last paycheck of the year. Yes more of us were happy to not get it. Taxes ate up the whole thing. But hey we gave our people $1000 right before Christmas and told everyone that doesn’t work for us how great we are. No we don’t let our people off for Christmas. But we are great.
Bonus all ready paid, if you didn’t get it you did not qualify. Contractual agreement back pay went away with previous contract. Therefore there won’t be any forth coming in a potential new agreement.
It seems a lot of people got ticked off about the bonus. They were happier without it. Strange.
Make a public statement about giving out a covid bonus to employees, and not pay it due to negative feedback? Yeah I'm sure that'll go over real well. I'm interested in knowing how you know it was canceled. Are you the same guy that said the unions denied it as well? A company of this size, DOES NOT make a statement of that caliber, not follow through with it, and expect there to be no serious repercussions from it.

Anyone heard when this bonus payout was supposed to occur?
The catch is to make sure you're backside is lubed up good. Everything the UP does has always been a surprise to everyone. I can't remember when the UP was very clear on much of what they said. Could it be to offset the contract pay? Maybe! Could it be that they genuinely care about the worker? Maybe, but less likely though. My opinion is everyone had better be prepared for anything. Myself and many more can't trust this company.

I think this is a fake rumor started by someone to stir up the workers. A bonus is just that...a bonus. This should be in addition to your pay, not a bargaining chip in a union contract. Like everyone else on this forum, I have no proof, this is just my opinion.
