Hell, my wife is in realty in Findlay, and has heard from clients that there is a round coming in January/February. Number is set at 200 in Findlay. I've also talked to friends that work for contractors at the refineries (one at St. Paul, another at Detroit), and the contractors are hearing about it, too. Guarantee it's coming.
My guess (and it's a total guess) is that with Elliott in the boardroom, this isn't going to stop until the company has either
- ) moved to texas (Huge savings on payroll tax, much deeper bench of people - don't even have to pay to move the folks in Findlay, just layoff and rehire), or
- ) sold the company for parts (based on Hennigan's background, this is a possibility)

With that attitude we will definitely have more layoffs. No consumer confidence / no control of covid with vaccination means no money for MPC and no money for our salaries.

Co-workers are also hearing rumors of a January/February Round. Not sure how far reach or which sectors of the company. I've heard from two different co-workers from different locations across the nation on the same rumor. I have 13 months to go to reach age 50 and 11 years of service. I'm hoping I can make it that long.

Mike was pretty clear in his message, our (and other O&G corps) revenue won't come back until consumer confidence comes back. We need all get vaccinated so people start flying to places and get cruises, business start taking business trips again and the overall tourism industry comes back again.
If that doesn't happen in 2021, we will have more layoffs, besides what it was already planned due to the companies integration.
Yes we need to cut G&A to fund trans and Q bathroom construction at every field office across the MPC/MPLX world.
So has there been any news or rumors?
